Artist Mike Pavol began to paint while he was a young boy growing up in Phoenix, Arizona. In the early nineties he studied art, primarily oil painting, at Fleisher Art Memorial, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He also studied with Christine Lafuente and Lennart Anderson.
Mike Pavol has been the recipient of several awards, including one for portraiture, at the Fleisher Art Memorial. In 2004-2005 he won awards in the small painting competition at the Philadelphia sketch club.
His work has been featured in the Phoenix Art Museum, and The State Art Museum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and the Wayne Art Center. Galleries displaying his work include the Gross McCleaf, and Twenty-Two Galleries in Philadelphia, and the Krasdale Gallery in New York City.
Owners of his work include New York collectors Glenn Horowitz, William Goldman, Susan Burden, and Sigmund Balka. Philadelphia collectors include Jennifer Rice, Michael Forman, and Mami Hara.
Mike Pavol makes his home in Philadelphia, where he lives with his wife and son.
